Welcome to Mooless.

Mooless is the brainchild of Directors and shareholders Ian Cozens and David Williams, both based in Auckland, New Zealand.

The concept of a Mooless Butter was birthed around 2011 by Ian Cozens, a mechanical engineer. Originally Ian sold the product under the brand of Coconut Butter, but consumers did not know if this was a spread or something to lather onto your skin.

The product was refined with the help of food scientists in 2020 and began to be sold in the Farros food stores and New World Supermarkets in Auckland, New Zealand. This was under the brand…

…but this brand was a very complex statement to make and with the advent of Covid-19, the launch into overseas markets was placed on hold as the group managed its way through the marketplace and supply chain disruptions created by the global virus.

In mid-2022 Ian Cozens teamed with David Williams and the new brand MOOLESS was birthed. David grew up with Type 1 Diabetes in his family along with daughters on FODMAP diets, so aligning with products that don’t elevate blood sugar levels was as natural as the ingredients we use. Along with the product range extension into 5 amazing flavours and the reformulation of the all-natural and chemical-free ingredients, the global launch of the Mooless Butter range was back on the agenda. The company has partnered with several New Zealand growers and suppliers and established solid strategic style relationships with international players that will provide quality ingredients.

MOOLESS product packaging is PFA-free and curbside recyclable, and, we already surpass the Australian Packaging Regulation changes for 2025.

The company is looking to Australia to create a strategic style relationship with a major food retailer to bring to market a unique and completely natural solution inside the spreads and butter category. 

Based on market research conducted by the Mooless Limited executives it is quite apparent that Mooless has no real competitor in terms of the overall product offering it brings to the spreads category. Mooless creates a niche away from traditional margarine spreads and can be considered a disruptor in the Spreads Category.
